The golf course will open for the season on Tuesday, May 1
Our team has been hard at work preparing the golf course for the start of season. The greens get better each day. We cut them for the second time today, and with another few good days of growth, they will be ready to go.
The short game area is fantastic to practice those shots that will take many strokes off your game. Being that it’s a relatively small practice area and gets a lot of play, it’s important to keep it closed until we have good seed germination. If we were to open it too quickly we would fall behind on recovery. Therefore, the short game area will remain closed until we have evidence of seed germination. In the meantime, the chipping area on the right side of the 5th hole will open with the course on Tuesday.
City Sewer Project
The restoration contractors made good progress on Monday and Tuesday. The rain on Wednesday caused a slight delay, but restoration resumed this morning.
For the first few weeks of the season there will be areas prepped for sod. They will be properly marked with ropes and stakes, and there will be designated crossings with plywood to avoid any disturbance in these areas. This will help the restoration contractors complete the work faster.
Creek Erosion Project
During the early part of the week, irrigation was installed around the new 18th green. The bunker liner and the bunker boards were installed in the new fairway bunkers. Most of the construction on the 18th and 10th holes is at the finishing stages. The rain we received mid-week caused a slight delay, but construction will resume once the site has dried.
