The golf course will open for the season on Tuesday, May 1. The golf course has come a long way in the last few days, after being covered in snow only a week ago. The greens have responded well to some better temperatures. We cut the greens for the first time on Monday and they look good. Although we remained optimistic for an opening date at the end of this week, the cloud cover yesterday and the rain today hasn’t allowed for enough consistent growth. Opening too early, for even two or three days, on greens that aren’t completely ready could cause a significant setback. With a good weather forecast over the weekend and early next week, the greens will be ready for Tuesday.
I am very excited to get the season started.
